I
joined the team in early January 2000 as Project Officer. I was responsible for
the management of the final phase of the project; the Operational Roll Out work
package. I also managed a DNER funded
project to evaluate MetaLib/SFX, the hybrid library system produced by
Ex-Libris.
My main Headline duties included:
Evaluation - finding user
requirements and getting users to test the system.
Dissemination -
communicating output from the project, and other general publicity.
Resource analysis - identifying suitable resources to include on the system
and their technical requirements, licence agreements etc.
Previous
Experience/Expertise
Prior to this post, I worked as a Subject
Information Specialist (Assistant Librarian) in the Open University Library. I
helped to meet the information needs of the Open University Business School
through the development of electronic resources and services. I also developed
an HTML version of the OU's MBA Information Search Guide. I was the Membership
Secretary of the British
Business Schools Librarians Group from May 1999 - June 2000.
Interests/Professional
Activities
I have a Masters in Librarianship and a BSc in
Environmental Studies. I have also passed "The Effective Manager" - a
Certificate Level Management course.
Out of work, I enjoy Ceroc (a type of jive
http://www.ceroc.com/), Salsa, cycling and
walking (preferably in the mountains).
Ingleton, in the
Yorkshire dales is one of my favourite places. I also like reading and the
theatre.
